Daffodils

I started a new blog because I switched to wordpress but found I liked blogger more. However, it was a rabbit hole to switch my old blog back to blogger so I just opened a new one.

It's still me though, Kara/Hopie from a spirit of simplicity

I am feeling better after having the flu at the beginning of February. My husband and I both had it.

I slept in the guest room cuddled up with our cat, Tucker. While my husband slept in our bed.

We are better now and back at work.

I keep buying daffodils and placing little vases of them all over the house.

I am so desperately longing for spring.

The weather was rainy and cool this morning but not the frigid and frozen that we have been having.

It may not look it but spring is not too very far away.

I'm very thankful to have such a beautiful commute to work.

My beautiful step-daughter, Ashley died 9 years ago today.

I miss her very much and so sad for all that she lost when she left this world.

I am grateful to know that she is at peace with those who went before her.

"...And then my heart with pleasure fills

and dances with the daffodils."

  1. A wonderful nature inspired quote by Wordsworth. Love your new blog title.
Your pic makes me want to grow my hair back out. That's how I wore mine all through college until my last semester when I got a shag cut. Which was horrible so then I chopped THAT and haven't had long hair since other than a shoulder length bob. You inspire me!!
I too am longing for spring. I have some purple dried flowers leftover from my roses bouquet from Valentine's that sit in a little vase in the morning sun. It makes me think SPRING is COMING.
    Happy weekend!!

  2. I like the look of your new blog, but admit I was confused when I first popped over here.

We are having some spring weather this week, and it's been sooo nice. I don't like to rush the seasons, but spring can't come soon enough this year.

The daffodils are so cheery. Love the poem.

I'm sorry for the loss of your daughter. She is beautiful. Sending warm thoughts your way.

  4. I remember when your step daughter passed. It was a sad time.
I love daffodils, too. They're my favorite and I used them in bouquets at my wedding.
We are all so so ready for spring! Happy March to you!

  5. Changing blog platforms is not for the fainthearted. I prefer the way commenting works on Wordpress but I can't face moving everything over.
I love daffodils and nearly bought some at the weekend but we're still getting things straight at home so maybe next week. Sorry for the loss of your step-daughter. Anniversaries can be difficult, even after time has elapsed. It looks like spring here today - very sunny but we had frost overnight! Have a good week - glad you're feeling better after the flu.

  6. Oy, the changing of platforms is not a fun time, for sure. How cheery your home must look with all the daffodils! We had a glorious fake spring for about a week and now we're back close to freezing temps with some wet snow but at least it's not the bitter cold of last month. Remembrance anniversaries can be heartbreaking no matter how many years have passed. She was a beautiful young lady.

  7. Well, I thought I would check out your blog because I loved the name of it. And what a surprise...it is YOU!! I had been wondering what had happened to you. You chose such a beautiful blog name. I am so sorry about Ashley! So very young. And I am very glad that you are both all better now; the flu is no joke! Ginny

  8. Thanks for visiting my blog. Sorry you got the flu. I have not had it for years. Glad you are doing better. Sorry about the loss of you step daughter. She was so young. Enjoy the changing weather. I tried Wordpress but did not like it. I have a whole website that I worked on from 2000-2021. I still have it up but I moved my blog to Blogger. I have over 300 pages on my website. Have a great week!
